Reading "The Cannon"

I hope "The Cannon" got you thinking. Maybe you noticed some resources you'd like to pursue, like the poet-chemist Roald Hoffmann. Perhaps you made connections between our lectures and the concepts she describes, like the description of ionic compounds on pages 128-129. Hopefully you attended to the hints about things we might soon be covering, like the introduction to covalent bonding on page 125. Keep "The Cannon" nearby during the next couple of chapters in the textbook. These concepts will keep coming up and Ms. Angier will help us make sense of them.
